Westminster Neighborhood Services believes in partnering with organizations that excel in their experience.  The Adult Education programs offered at the Family and Adult Services building include some of the best programs in the City of Indianapolis.

The goal is to offer hands-on classes, workshops, and other useful skills for low-income residents at minimal to no cost. Programs focus on cooking and nutrition, fitness, basic math and reading, parenting and anger management, job readiness and resume building, and financial literacy. Clients are welcome to participate in as many activities as they’d like. So far, hundreds of individuals have enrolled in dozens of classes at Westminster.

Westminster also believes in bringing resources directly to our neighbors.  During Food Pantry Hours you might be able to find Gleaners Food Bank to assist with SNAP benefits, a variety of health insurance resources, dental assistance, eye exams with free reading glasses, legal assistance, low income cell phone assistance, and the Marion Country Board of Health to do cooking demonstrations.

Current List of Classes offer include:
High School Equivalency (HSE): Warren Township MSD Monday-Thursday 9:00 am-12:00 pm
Cooking and Nutritional Classes: Purdue Extension
Bible Study: Inside Out Restoration Ministries: Wednesdays, 9:30-10:30 am
AA Meetings: Saturday, 7:00 pm

There’s also an open computer lab where clients may access the Internet for activities like job searches, resume building, checking email, registering for SNAP and other government benefits, and signing up for WorkOne enrollment.

Westminster is continually looking to add resources for our neighbors.  If you want to learn how to get involved or have a service to offer please contact Lauren Rollings, Volunteer Coordinator, lauren.rollings@westmin.org or 317.245.6279

All programs are at Westminster’s Family & Adult Services Center, 2325 E. New York St., Indianapolis. For more information or to sign up for Westminster’s adult education classes, contact Lindsey Welch, Family and Adult Services Director, lindsey.welch@westmin.org or 317.245.6282.
