We’re thrilled to introduce our newest board member, Geng Wang, the CEO of Civic Champs—a company dedicated to empowering nonprofits through intuitive volunteer management software.

Geng’s passion for community engagement and deep business experience make him an exciting addition to the Westminster team. Before Civic Champs, he co-founded and sold two companies, RentJungle.com and Community Elf, and worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He’s also a graduate of Michigan State University and Harvard Business School, and currently resides in Carmel, Indiana with his wife and two boys.

When asked what inspired him to join Westminster, Geng said he had the chance to volunteer onsite and witnessed firsthand the essential support Westminster offers. He also immediately connected with our team’s energy, describing them as both fun to work with and deeply passionate about the mission. What resonated most with him was our commitment to a robust volunteer program—something he believes is a powerful force for sustainable impact.

Geng brings invaluable expertise rooted in business, technology, and entrepreneurship. His past experience building startups and working within tight resource constraints gives him a unique perspective on how nonprofits can innovate, remain nimble, and do more with less. With over a decade of service on nonprofit boards, Geng looks forward to sharing strategies he’s seen work elsewhere, particularly as Westminster explores new tech solutions to expand our reach and better serve our neighbors.

As for what excites Geng most about our mission? He loves that Westminster addresses foundational needs such as food security through our soup kitchen and pantry, while also providing after-school enrichment for children. He understands how important reliable, nurturing care can be for working families who might otherwise worry about their children’s safety after school. His hope is to help Westminster continue to thrive, so more people on the Near Eastside can count on us for the essentials—and opportunities—they deserve. We can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together with Geng on board!
